SAP parameter changes

You can view the  change log in the SAP memory configuration monitor via the pathDETAIL ANALYSIS MENU • PARAMETERS.

Monitors for detailed analysis

you can call other SAP buffer allocation monitors by clicking the CALL detailed analysis STATISTIC and BUFFER SYNCHRON buttons.

Use of SAP memory areas

The memory configuration monitor enables you to monitor the size and use of SAP memory areas. Displacement should not occur in the SAP buffers (with the exception of the program buffer, which may have up to 10,000 displacements each day). Ensure that neither the extended memory nor the roll buffer become full.

Extended memory

Make it a top priority to monitor the extended memory. If this memory is used up completely, production work ceases, and immediate action is required to solve the problem. One solution is to increase the size of extended memory. You should also check whether there are programs with excessive memory consumption

Further measures

The following measures have medium priority; that is, the corresponding parameters must be adapted within a few days:

->TTAB, FTAB, SNTAB, and IRDB buffers
->Roll buffers, program buffers, and table buffers

The settings of the following buffers have a somewhat lower priority:

-> CUA buffer and screen buffer

-> SAP paging buffer

Note that the size of allocable memory is affected by operating system specific limitations, such as the maximum size of allocable shared memory and the maximum address space. If you change the memory configuration, check whether the new parameters allow the SAP instance to start without an error
