NEW YORK(CNNMoney.com) -- A cautious open was on tap Tuesday for WallStreet as investors waited to see if oil would continue to stayback of the record high set 11 days ago.
At 4:40a.m. ET, Nasdaq and S&P futures were littlechanged.
U.S.stocks finished lower Monday, hurt by new data showing a softeconomy, S&P ratings cuts for some leadinginvestment banks and shakeups of management at banking companiesWachovia (WB, Fortune 500) and Washington Mutual (WM, Fortune500).
MarketsOil prices fell 30 cents to $127.46 a barrel in Asian electronictrading, and remained about $8 below the record above $135 set May22. Market participants are looking for clues about whether anotherrun at the record is imminent.
Thedollar weakened against the euro and yen following Monday's stockselloff.
Asianstocks ended lower Tuesday, with Tokyo's Nikkei index losing 1.6%.European markets were mixed in early trading.
